Case Study: 6900 Layton Office and Parking Garage Concrete Structure

Challenge: The 6900 Layton office and parking garage concrete structure development is the latest addition to the Belleview Station transit-oriented development in Denver. Concrete is a product which, if not carefully planned, can lead to cost overruns, scheduling problems and quality issues. Prime West and Weitz Company made the decision early on to partner with an experienced contractor to get the job done. That partner is GH Phipps.

Solution: GH Phipps was involved early which allows us to positively impact the direction of the design by utilizing our own experience with concrete, BIM technology and lean construction principles. Using these tools and methodologies, GH Phipps was able to provide clash detection, analyze the precast and steel models and combine the information in the field to ensure the structure of the best quality, safe and on budget. 

Exceptional Building Experience: GH Phipps is executing this project using the value engineering and expert insight to help overcome budget, schedule and quality concerns. The $11 million dollar building is expected to be completed in the summer of 2020.
