Sustainable Building
GH Phipps has been committed to green building since 1992. The built environment has an impact on the natural environment, human health, and the economy. By adopting green building strategies, the impact on the environmental can be reduced by:
- Efficiently using energy, water, and other resources
- Protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity
- Reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation
Green construction methods can be integrated into buildings at any stage, from design and construction, to renovation and deconstruction. The benefits of green building include reduced operating costs and improved occupant productivity by enhancing occupant comfort and health.
The LEED™ Green Building Rating System is a third-party certification program administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington D.C.-based, nonprofit coalition of building industry leaders and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
GH Phipps has 27 LEED™ accredited professionals on staff. LEED™ Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED™ Rating System.
